Boylston suspends Flock cameras, moves to terminate contract

On September 11, 2026, Boylston announced it suspended use of Flock Safety’s automated license plate reader cameras and moved to terminate its contract, citing noncompliance with Massachusetts procurement law (Chapter 30B). Police Chief John Annunziata notified Flock of the intent to terminate. The Select Board stated the decision was based on the procurement process, not on the technology itself. A public meeting is scheduled for September 28 to discuss ALPR technology.
