Three Wisconsin Cities Vote to End Flock Camera Contracts
On Tuesday night, the Oconomowoc Common Council voted 5-2 to cancel the city’s contract with Flock Safety, ending six license-plate cameras. Early termination could cost the city $18,000 next year, already in the draft budget. The same night, Waukesha’s Common Council voted not to fund Flock after 2026, dropping a proposed $292,000 line from its 2027-2030 capital plan. Racine’s mayor broke a 7-7 tie to terminate that city’s contract; cameras stay live for 30 days to finish open cases. Oconomowoc’s school district said it will follow the city’s decision on four leased cameras.
