Lebanon shuts off Flock cameras
On September 8, 2026, the Lebanon, Ohio, city council voted to immediately shut off and cover its 20 Flock Safety automated license plate readers. The vote followed Flock Safety’s failure to respond to a letter containing 54 questions about data retention and access within three weeks. Mayor Mark Messer said he lost confidence in the company after it did not reply. The council also gave city officials seven business days to determine whether the city can exit its contract without paying $60,000 for the final year. Flock Safety did not respond to a request for comment.
