Englewood City Council unanimously votes to terminate Flock contract

Englewood City Council voted unanimously, 6-0, to terminate the city’s contract with Flock for automatic license plate reader cameras. City Attorney Tamara Niles said the city would have to pay a $27,500 annual service fee plus a $6,000 early camera removal fee, though police were trying to negotiate lower fees. Flock would remove the cameras, but no removal timeframe is in the contract. Mayor Othoniel Sierra cited concerns about how Flock shares data. A proposed replacement contract with Axon failed on a 3-3 vote.
