Cohasset Select Board blocks Flock auto-renewal

Cohasset’s Select Board voted unanimously to prevent the town’s Flock Safety contract from automatically renewing, opening a 30-day window to renegotiate or consider another vendor. The town has four Flock automated license plate readers. In July, police used the system to track two stolen vehicles. Police Chief William Quigley has acknowledged privacy tensions, stating that surveillance can ‘really, really get out of hand.’
