Fort Wayne police cancel Flock ALPR contract and remove cameras
Fort Wayne Police Chief Paul Smith announced that the department canceled its subscription with Flock Safety, taking the license plate reader system offline. City Council had voted against renewing the contract for 36 cameras. The federal government allowed the grant that funded the program to close early without penalty. FWPD-controlled data stored in the Flock system was deleted, and Flock began removing cameras from locations throughout Fort Wayne.
