Auburn ends Flock ALPR contract

The Auburn City Council voted unanimously on Aug. 21, 2026, to end a four-year, $120,000 contract with Flock Safety for automated license plate readers posted around the city. Mayor Jimmy Giannettino said the city ‘messed up’ because it never voted to accept a $122,500 state grant that funded the contract. The council also voted to apply for a new LETECH grant, with police chief Matthew Androsko saying the money would go toward replacing drones and radios.
