Stow ends Flock Safety contract after officer misuse

On August 18, 2026, the Stow Police Department announced it had cut ties with Flock Safety and removed its remaining license plate camera. The decision followed an internal affairs investigation concluding that Officer Jason Rogers used the Flock database and state systems to access a person’s personal information without a legitimate law enforcement reason on multiple occasions. Rogers was placed on unpaid leave and faces termination. The department filed a criminal complaint against him and forwarded findings to the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission. Stow also removed two other Flock cameras earlier in 2026 after evaluating their effectiveness.
