Gardner cancels Flock contract

In August 2026, the Gardner City Council voted not to renew a contract with Flock Safety for automated license plate readers. The Gardner Police Department discontinued use of all Flock cameras and notified the provider that the contract has been canceled. The city owned one Flock camera. Flock Safety announced plans to add more oversight to its system, retain some data for shorter periods, and more closely track how agencies use the platform.
