Stoughton terminates Flock surveillance contract

The Stoughton City Council voted unanimously on July 28, 2026 to terminate its contract with Flock Safety, ending use of five surveillance cameras after months of community opposition. The council ordered bags placed over the cameras and asked that all collected data be permanently deleted. The two-year contract total was $25,000, of which the city will still pay the remaining $12,500. The live feed camera pointed at the Cascade Falls apartment complex, which residents criticized as targeting a community of color.
