Fort Collins ends Flock contract

The City of Fort Collins confirmed the removal of all 15 of its Flock Safety automated license plate reader cameras. The move ended the city’s contract with Flock after a February city council work session raised concerns about the company’s security record and the possibility that federal immigration authorities could access the data. District 5 Councilmember Amy Hoeven said the decision came down to trust in Flock as a company. The city is drafting a new surveillance policy.
